FAQ’s

Q
What makes this different?
A
Many teams look at Security Culture as something that can be delegated to a computer based training program.
Most security training is based on shocking the attendees on the various methods used by scammers and overwhelming them with the signs they need to identify. Phenotype training is based on using an empowering approach of knowing your strengths and weaknesses to develop that muscle memory to identify attempts that prey on false urgency, authority pressure, herd mentality, and other human wiring.
Q
How often are tabletop exercises performed?
A
It is customized, but it is recommended that the tabletops occur 1-2 times a year with 2 exercises in each engagement. You can choose to rotate staff, including finance, HR, and IT.  After the first two engagements, we move to "gray" teams where some of the participants are involved in pre-exercise planning.
Q
Who should attend the Event Simulation exercise?
A
It is recommended that the staff from your IT and HR departments are heavily involved. Leadership from your customer facing teams is required. Some groups include Marketing and/or PR. Based on the theme of the event, it may be requested to have representatives from finance. An effort is made to keep the attendance for our standard simulation to no more than 10 people. For projects that need larger attendance, it is recommended that multiple meeting facilities and times are set to allow for full engagement of all attendees.
Q
Is this a replacement for our automated phishing tests?
A
No. While more attacks are using voice based methods, there is still a large number of attempts using email scam attempts. We recommend the phishing tests as a KPI to measure the success of our phenotype based self awareness training.
